Monit - The dirty diaper sensor

August 28, 2017

Well this is a fascinating product. Monit is a Korean company that has created these Monit Sensors (above) which are used to detect dirty diapers. The monitors fit outside the diaper and detect urine and feces by measuring temperature, humidity, and gas. The Bluetooth-enabled device comes with its own app and reports to your smart phone in real time. The official website also claims the monitors help prevent SIDS and can be repurposed as an air quality monitor after your baby grows up.

The company was founded by six dads who used to work for Samsung and now want to develop baby products. They also have a baby carrier in the works.

Americans will soon be able to buy the Monit. It's expected out this year.
