What we know so far about the new Bugaboo? It has 4 wheels, which have customizable colors including a wood interior on one.. It is supposedly the most customizable stroller yet. Does that mean with only fabric? Or will this be a new type of single to double stroller with bassinet and car seat options? The handle appears to be totally new. And that's about it. I guess we will have to wait a few more days.

The Nanit monitor adds new features

nanit - January 13, 2018

Nanit, the first smart baby monitor to use computer vision technology to measure sleep and parental visits, has announced the debut of Sleep TipsTM, a first-of-its-kind capability that provides parents with personalized, scientifically-backed coaching tips on how to help their a first-of-its-kind baby sleep better. To accompany this new feature, Nanit also announced the launch of an Amazon voice activated integration through Alexa Skills. “By analyzing a baby’s sleep cycle and delivering actionable insights specific to your baby’s age, sleep behavior, and visit patterns, Nanit is the only monitor that puts Baby’s sleep development in your hands,” said Nanit co-founder & CEO Dr. Assaf Glazer. “We are thrilled to introduce these innovative new features at CES and look forward to continuing to help parents around the world improve their baby's sleep and the overall sleep of the family.”

As the connected nursery category continues to grow, Nanit is leading the way by providing consumers with a smart baby monitor that combines research-based sleep science with computer vision technology-- the same as used in self-driving cars—which has never been introduced to the home until now. Nanit’s patented advanced camera sensors provide sleep-deprived parents with valuable information to take into consideration when making decisions about their baby’s sleep habits. This is especially important when quality sleep is necessary for development in children.

New features introduced include:

Personalized Sleep Tips

Nanit’s smart sensors and computer vision-enabled camera learns a baby’s sleeping habits and their parent/caregiver’s visit patterns over time, and then sends parents alerts within the Nanit Insights app. This personalized advice is generated from data and research from a dream team of sleep experts, scientists and pediatricians. Based on a series of specific triggers and smart algorithms generated from individual user data, Nanit can detect certain sleep behaviors and parental visits (check-ins versus out-of-bed visits) that are less than optimal and generate a Sleep Tip to encourage parents to change behavior. Learn more about Sleep Tips here.

Amazon Alexa Skills

“Alexa, ask My Nanit what time did Lily fall asleep last night?” With Nanit’s Amazon Alexa integration, you can go hands-free. Ask Alexa how your baby slept, what time they woke up, or even how many times you took them out of the crib each night. With Alexa, Nanit is smarter than ever, making it easier for you to understand your baby's night, so that baby - and the whole family - can get more sleep.

Thousands of parents have been using Nanit with their babies over the last year and continue to reap the benefits of the exclusive sleep insights, behavioral analysis, social sharing capabilities and nightly video summaries -- all without a wearable component. Other key features include: a private social feed for parents and caregivers to communicate, a wall mount or floor stand option with easy installation, night light, fully integrated cable management system, humidity and temperature sensors, and the best view of your baby, bar-none. With the introduction of Nanit’s revolutionary Sleep Tips and Alexa Skills integration, parents can now make informed decisions with confidence by using actionable insights to help improve their baby’s sleep.

The new Sleep Tips feature is available through the Nanit Insights app, which offers 1-year subscription models at $10 per month or $100 per year for 30 days of video and sleep history. Nanit cameras range from $279 to $329 depending on the preferred mounting solution. Nanit’s Alexa Skill is available for free by enabling it via the Alexa Skills store.

Essentials by Britax

britax - January 01, 2018

Brtiax has a new line and this one won't break the bank.  Essentials by Britax is a line build on the basic belief that safety is not a luxury or premium feature on a seat. Safety is essential. It’s essential to design all seats with baby safety and parent convenience in mind. It’s essential to include the most important safety components on all seats. And it is essential that Brtiax test those seats to ensure each one is made up to their higher standard of safety.

And so we have the new Allegiance (left) and Emblem (right) seats.

The Allegiance Convertible Car Seat is the perfect seat for your growing baby. Designed with Britax safety technologies to help provide children extra protection on-the-go, including SafeCell Impact Protection, a deep foam lined shell, a 10-Position Harness and LATCH.

Emblem has an extra layer of side impact protection and an adjustable headrest, and inlcudes all the same features as the Allegiance.

The Britax Emblem (239.99) and Britax Allegiance (199.99) will both be available in January.
